Caption

This is a cross-section of a yellowjacket nest. These are another kind of wasp. This species builds nests above ground. Others dig out nests underground, but they put the same kind of structure inside. (Dolichovespula arenaria, the Aerial Yellowjacket. Order Hymenoptera).
