Anura
This order includes all the frogs and toads , there are over 4000 species hopping all over the world! These amphibians have no tails. They are adapted for jumping: compared to their relatives the salamanders, they have lighter bones, and many of their bones are longer, or fused together. All frogs and toad adults are carnivorous, each has a tongue attached at the front of its mouth, instead of the back like most other animals. The tongue flips forward to capture a meal. Frog and toad larvae are called tadpoles. They often eat algae and other micro-organisms.
